the truth is... [5]

People had a habit of looking at me as if I were some kind of mirror instead of a person.
They didn't really see me,
they saw their own lewd thoughts,
then they white-masked themselves by calling me the lewd one...

a sentimental journey

(this post is inspired by/dedicated to Daul Kim)
There are times when you feel disconnected
suddenly feel alienated from the surroundings
out of place
then for some reasons you're able to vividly recall all your sad memories
just rushing back to you
what you have lost along the way and all the regrets

i thought i was in condition where i doesn't even feel remotely unhappy
strong enough
kept my self busy enough
busy enough to fool myself thinking that i m over you.
yet, there is always those times
times where your body n soul longing for a sense of belongings
a companionship
and simply just wanted to be loved

i cried
for hapiness
for sadness
but most of all
for emptyness

here's to another year of experience

On this special day of mine, i would like to say few gratitudes...

I am thankful that i don't already have everything i desire,
if i did, what would there be to look forward to

i am thankful when i don't know something
for it gives me the opportunity to learn

i am thankful for the difficult times
during those times i grow

i am thankful for my limitations
because they give me opportunities for improvement

i am thankful for each new challenge
because it will build my strength and character

i am thankful for my mistakes
they teach me valuable lessons

i am thankful when i'm tired and weary
because it means i've tried my best to do something and made a difference

and i am thankful for each lovely souls that was and still a part of my life
for each and everyone of them are the one that shaped me and gave meaning to this thing i called life.

A birthday is just the first day of another 365-day journey around the sun. I'm gonna enjoy the trip ☆

when words fall, music speaks [2]

独り Empty Roomもう帰る意味もない
自分だけのベッドも前ほど狭くはない
待つ事の虚しさにまだ耐えている My Heart
あきらめたくないPrecious Time
Every timeI See Through Your Eyes
新しい朝向き合える気持ちにまだなれなくて

いつの日にかあの頃のように戻れるなら
流す涙今はふいて君を送るから
たどった足跡も見えない明日も
背を向けずいつかまた笑える日まで
Can't Let Go

こぼれる涙今ではもう枯れて
止まない雨も時とともに晴れて
一人でもYou say it's alright
信じた分痛むなら
戻れないThose Precious Time
Everytime I Feel In My Heart

痛みや弱さも受け止める強さも探してた
そばにいれるならすべて伝えきれたなら
消えかけの温もり
Say This Time I Won't Let Go

Words on differences

It is good to know something of the customs of different people in order to judge more soundly of our own,
and so that we might not think that all that which is contrary to our own ways be ridiculous and contrary to reason, as those who have seen nothing have the habit of doing.

smile, open your eyes, love and go on

"You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on."

~David Harkins

出会い - an encounter

"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit"
~ Albert Schweitzer

Actually the pictures and the quote doesn't have any connection whatsoever, i just feel like uploading recent photographs that i took... so i put it together in this post ^-^

Anyway.. recently i've got to think about the word "出会い" (deai) in english it means "an encounter". I like how merriam-webster define 'encounter' as,
-to meet especially by chance
-a particular kind of meeting or experience with another person

for some reasons, i found this word beautiful. i mean, try to see the real meaning of this word, the experience behind it...
i feel like i have encountered lots of people in my 23 years of life, and some of them truly affecting my life. their very existence shape me as a person i am today. that's why i feel grateful to meet those people in my life, it really is a blessing for me. i feel like i've learn a lot n experience a lot through my encounter with them. it seems that, the word encounter have a big definition after all.

i wonder have u ever think about simple things like an encounter? feel grateful for a little think that unexpectedly have major impact in your life. now each day i try to see those little things n be grateful for it.

When did it stop being fun and start being scary?

....When you're young, your whole life is about the pursuit of fun.
Then, you grow up and learn to be cautious. You could break a bone or a heart.
You look before you leap and sometimes you don't leap at all,
because there's not always someone there to catch you.
And in life, there's no safety net.
When did it stop being fun and start being scary?...
~Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and The City.

It's so true... as we grow up, it's as if we forgot how to live the moment and just have fun. we started to over-think and over-analyze every single thing. We learn to turn off our expectations, not because we stop having hope, but more like we avoid to be let down by someone we care or something important to us when everything is falls apart.
The thing is, sometimes this also means that we unconsciously turn ourselves into pessimists. we forgot how fun it is to try something new, to fight for what we want, to be true to ourselves... and how exciting it is to take a leap of faith, make mistakes and just enjoy life as it is without holding back or feeling scared. Mistake is not a negative thing when you're able to turn it into lesson learned.

ten words you need to stop mispelling... oops, i mean MISSPELLING!

"If your pants are too loose, you might lose your pants."
“Affect” is a verb, as in “Your ability to communicate clearly will affect your income immensely.” “Effect” is a noun, as in “The effect of a parent’s low income on a child’s future is well documented.” By thinking in terms of “the effect,” you can usually sort out which is which, because you can’t stick a “the” in front of a verb. While some people do use “effect” as a verb (“a strategy to effect a settlement”), they are usually lawyers, and you should therefore ignore them if you want to write like a human.

photos that changed the world

At TED University, Jonathan Klein of Getty Images shows some of the most iconic, and talks about what happens when a generation sees an image so powerful it can't look away -- or back.
Photographs do more than document history -- they make it.

the truth is... [4]

The belief that youth is the happiest time of life is founded on a fallacy.
The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts,
they grow happier as they grow older.
Those who decide to use leisure as a means of mental development,
who love good music, good books, good pictures, good company, good conversation,
are the happiest people in the world.

And they are not only happy in themselves, they are the cause of happiness in others.

 ~William Lyon Phelps

dacafe's diary (ダカフェ日記)

i don't know weather its because of the angle, the timing, the technique, the exposure, the objects, the simplicity, the lighting or mash up of everything above... i am in love with these photographs!

its simple, its heart warming, its straight forward and comforting all together. the last picture, i think its vvvery inspiring. i've always wanted to be able to take pictures like these. i want to take picture of something simple and turning it into something special through my camera. just like those pictures above.
The photographer took all these pictures in a form of dairy, you can go straight to the website, and enjoy more of his nice work.

urban morning

6.40am view in front of my work place

frankly, i am not a morning person.
my biorhythm is messed up in the morning, especially if the early morning wake up is intended for work.
but i do enjoy this one particular moment,
the moment where i sip a nice cup of coffee and lit up a cigarette in the morning right before i started to work and get on with all the work hectic.
its simply the best way to start my work day.
